The Physiotherapy Department at the IEO Independent Living Centre focuses on improving movement, strength, mobility, and physical functioning for persons who require rehabilitation support.
The department provides different areas of physiotherapy according to the conditions and needs identified in the IEO profile.
Areas of Physiotherapy
Areas of Physiotherapy
Services include physiotherapy support for children with conditions listed by IEO, including:
- Cerebral Palsy (CP)
- Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS)
- DMS
- Meningitis
- Hemiplegia
- Quadriparesis
Neurological Physiotherapy
IEO’s profile identifies neurological physiotherapy for conditions including:
- Stroke
- Spinal Cord Injury
- Parkinson’s disease
Orthopedic Physiotherapy
Orthopedic physiotherapy includes support related to:
- Fractures
- Scoliosis
- Genu Varus
- Pigeon Toes
Geriatric Physiotherapy
Physiotherapy support is also provided for elderly patients.
Electrotherapy
The department includes electrotherapy-related equipment and modalities identified in the IEO profile, including:
- TENS
- Electrical Stimulation
- Vibrator
- Heating Pad
