Digital access is increasingly important for education, skills development, communication, and employment. The Inclusion & Empowerment Organization promotes digital inclusion as part of its wider mission to empower persons with disabilities.
The IEO Independent Living Centre includes IT and digital literacy activities designed to help participants develop computer and technology-related skills.
IT & Digital Literacy
Routine activities at the IEO Independent Living Centre include IT literacy classes covering:
- Basic computer skills
- Digital literacy
- Internet usage
- Technology training
The centre conducts regular IT classes, including classes arranged in two shifts, to support participants in developing digital and computer skills.
Digital Skills for Education and Employment
IEO’s IT activities are connected with its wider objectives of improving access to education and employment.
Digital skills can provide an important foundation for learning, communication, and participation in today’s increasingly digital environment.
Digital Inclusion as Part of Independent Living
IEO considers digital inclusion as one part of a broader support system that includes independent living skills, education, rehabilitation, assistive technology, livelihood support, and community participation.
Through its Independent Living Centre, IEO continues to provide opportunities for persons with disabilities to develop digital skills alongside other educational and empowerment activities.
