The Inclusion & Empowerment Organization provides rehabilitation-related services through its Independent Living Centre to support persons with disabilities in improving mobility, physical functioning, daily living skills, and independence.
IEO’s rehabilitation services form part of a broader community-based approach that connects rehabilitation with education, independent living, assistive technology, skills development, and social inclusion.
Assistive Devices Through IEO
IEO’s work includes an Assistive Devices Project implemented in collaboration with the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPD), Government of Sindh.
The organization’s 2026 progress report documents the distribution of assistive devices to persons with disabilities and the organization of an Assistive Devices Distribution Ceremony in Hyderabad.
The devices documented in the beneficiary records include electric wheelchairs and manual wheelchairs.
More Than Equipment
At IEO, assistive devices are viewed within a wider framework of accessibility and independent living.
Access to an appropriate assistive device can support a person’s ability to participate in education, healthcare, employment, public spaces, and community life.
IEO therefore connects assistive device support with rehabilitation, independent living skills, education, IT training, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, and other services available through the Independent Living Centre.
